About the company
The Irish-headquartered MAAS Aviation company paints aircraft at facilities in Europe and the US. It provides high quality painting services for anything from a single aircraft to the re-livery of entire commercial airline fleets.
The business can trace it’s roots back to 1982 when its parent company Expressair Aviation was founded.
In the years since then, MAAS Aviation has grown to become one of the most trusted partners to some of the world’s biggest airlines. It’s global success has seen it opening state-of-the-art facilities across the world.
The challenge
As one of the world’s leading aviation paint companies, the business experienced significant growth in recent years and wanted to expand beyond its domestic Irish market.
Working within multiple international supply chains on 70 day credit terms presented challenges on its cash flow. This created a need for a global finance partner who could provide flexible and reliable funding to support its daily operations and ongoing growth.
Our solution
A bespoke funding structure was put in place through collaboration of BFS teams in Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. This facilitated Maas Aviation in meeting the demands of its international expansion from Ireland into Europe and more recently the United States. The facilities provided allow the business to service contracts for key partner Airbus as well as other manufacturers.
"We supported Maas Aviation with a cross-border funding solution provided by our teams in Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany to support its daily operations and growth aspirations. The key to structuring such a complex international funding line is communication and being able to leverage our global footprint" - Mark O'Rourke, Managing Director, BFS Ireland, Andreas Dehlzeit, Managing Director, BFS Germany and Rob Retèl, Managing Director, BFS Netherlands.
